Management Team

Michael Stark, President MStark@starkandson.com

With over 45 years of experience in the business, Michael is a third-generation employee from the Stark family. He oversees all projects, maintains great relationships with his clients and will go above and beyond to get each job done correctly. He began as a laborer and worked his way up to superintendent and then finally became President in 2012. In addition to this, he is also the Vice President of the Underground Contractors Association of Illinois, serves on the executive board and is a member of the Safety Committee. Michael’s hands-on experience in every facet of the business, leadership skills and client-centered philosophy delivers value to every Stark & Son client.


Patricia Stark, Office Manager PStark@starkandson.com

Aside from keeping the office running smoothly for over 30 years, Patricia focuses on contracts, insurance, AR/AP, pay applications, lien waivers and also serves as the safety director.  You can find her working alongside her two golden retrievers, Dutch & Bailey.

Tony Stark, Vice President AStark@starkandson.com

Born into the business and officially becoming a full-time employee in 1998, Tony knows all the ins and outs both in the field, on the equipment and in the office. He started as an operator eventually working his way up to Vice President for Stark & Son in 2012.

Mike Horne, Superintendent MHorne@starkandson.com

Mike Horne has been a member of Stark & Son for over 35 years. He started with us right out of high school working on the septic crew and working his way up to his current position of Superintendent. You will find him out in the field on job sites working with clients, contractors, and team members alike to keep the flow of projects on track, moving efficiently and effectively. 

Ed Powers, Estimator/Construction Manager EPowers@starkandson.com

Ed came to Stark & Son in 2008 and has over 30 years of experience in project estimating and construction management. With a bachelor’s degree in Construction from Bradley University and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois, Ed’s knowledge and experience ensures that each project, small or large, runs smoothly from start to finish.

Morgan Zirk, Assistant Office Manager MZirk@starkandson.com

Morgan joined Stark and Son in the fall of 2023 and comes to us with a background in permit coordinating for various local municipalities in the building department. Morgan works alongside Patty regarding contracts, AR/AP, pay applications and lien waivers.

Karen Ferguson, Administrative Assistant Karen@starkandson.com

Karen has been with Stark & Son for over 20 years. Her duties include answering and directing phone calls, maintaining records, certified payroll, mobilization permits and assisting employees with many tasks.

Kevin Kane, Estimator KKane@starkandson.com

Kevin joined the Stark & Son team in 2019 as our earthwork and site utility Estimator. Kevin concentrates on the project and plan procurement as well as the pre-construction scheduling and startup facilitation.
